E.U. and China Trends in Trade in Challenging Times

The sudden and abrupt rise of COVID-19 became a challenge for the world economy. In this paper, we investigate changes in trend mutual trade between EU-15 countries China during demanding times crisis. We use monthly data Chinese exports to E.U. (2018:01–2020:05) imports from (2018:01–2020:07) relying on open-source TradeMap developed by International Trade Centre UNCTAD/WTO (ITC). Overall, there is an obvious decline 13–32 percent worldwide as predicted WTO. This affected main trading partner electronic devices medical supplies. has decreased, but major change demand brought alteration commodities structures reorientation export production. first five months 2020, witnessed strong engagement economy production goods newly high demand—mainly articles strongly related healthcare equipment. Thus, have observed that were very flexible changing structure their triggered flexibility worth further exploration, especially because crisis still not over new results can be expected.
